1. Baking soda

Baking soda also known as sodium bicarbonate is called as a gentle exfoliator for the skin that can cure dead skin cells and pores as well. The pH balance is maintained with its anti-inflammatory nature and it is also an excellent remedy for acne.

How to use:

a. Mix baking soda with little water and apply this directly on the acne. Few minutes later, you can wash off this solution.

b. You can also add cinnamon powder, lemon juice and honey to it. Keep this paste for some time to notice some magic happen and then wash it off.

Use this remedy at least twice a week to see best results.


2. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is another home remedy that cleanses the pores and also takes in the excess oil. It is known to exfoliate the skin as well.

a. Mix honey and lemon juice to the oatmeal and cook it a little. Once done, you need to rub this mixture on your face and use it like a scrub. Leave it on your face for some time and clear it off with lukewarm water later.

3. Fuller’s earth

Also known as Multani Mitti in India, this remedy is like heaven for the skin. Remember how our moms have always forced us to use this on the skin? Well, to be honest, it can do wonders with its power. It can unclog the pores and absorb the oil as well. The best part? It can revitalise your complexion as well.

How to use:

a. Mix fuller’s earth with rose water and add sandalwood powder to it. This helps in the consistency and  you can then apply the paste on your acne.

b. Keep this mud mask till it dries and you must take this process into consideration at least once a week.

4. Lemon juice

Lemon juice is another home remedy that can treat acne in no time and it can also clean out all the dirt particles that are infused in the pores. You can literally use this one on your skin daily for best results.

How to use:

a. Simply take the slice of the lemon and rub it on the acne. Wait for an hour and then wash it off with water.

b. You can also add rose water to it and clear your face with this solution.


5. Cinnamon and honey mask

Even though honey is sticky, but when both of these ingredients come into play, it can work well on the acne. Cinnamon is known to have antimicrobial properties that can stop the bacteria and also since honey has antibiotic powers, they are all set to clear the acne issue.

a. Firstly, rinse you face well and pat it dry. Once done, add the mixture together and blend it well. The paste should be left on the skin for  some time. Rinse it off totally after 15 minutes. This might feel a bit sticky on the face so be ready with some tissue papers.

6. Toothpaste

One of those home remedies that’s quite handy! Yes, that toothpaste you use everyday can also work well on the pimples. This is a proven fact!

a. Simply apply some of it on your skin and leave it overnight. Once you are up in the morning, you can wash it off.

Toothpaste has the power to reduce swelling if any and also cure dryness. Use the white one instead of the gel based paste for best results.

7. Tea tree oil

Here’s another remedy that you can try out. Tea tree oil is known for its antiseptic nature and also reduces the pores on the skin. It can also clean the bacteria on the skin.

a. Take a few drops of this one and apply on the acne.

b. You can also use a carrier oil with it, but if that burns, you can add water and also mix it with aloe vera gel and then glide it on your skin.

8. Orange peel
